Step 1
Crop Residues
Extracted from the fibrous stalks of the plants/ the harvest from paddy, sugarcane, wheat, soybean, etc. that are otherwise burnt post-harvest .

Step 2
Industrial By Products
Ashes and slags from the steel and power industries complete the role of a filler material that enables a fine tuned compaction of the end material.

Step 3
BINDR
The Alkaline Activator that enables Re-polymerization helping create a strong, stable, and carbon-negative building block, without the need for high-temperature kilns or energy-intensive clinker production.

It is a racing certainty that businesses have an important role to play in preventing climate change. But businesses are predicated on profits, and not long ago, entrepreneurs considering businesses that incorporate climate solutions were thought to be “hare-brained”. However, things have been changing gradually. Ever since the recent re-emergence of the trillion-dollar crop – hemp, dispositions are starting to look good for both climate and entrepreneurs.

It was just 2 days until deadline when we discovered the Clean Energy Challenge through some friends of ours. A little reading about the challenge, the organisers and supporters got us supremely excited. Not everyday do you get an opportunity to be a part of something that gets supported by the IKEA Foundation and endorsed by the UNFCCC. Not just that, the challenge brief fit our solution so well, there wasn't an option other than applying for it.
